Ginny Dolls were first produced in the 1948 and into the 1950's with the last ones produced in 1969.  In 1973 Tonka purchased the Vogue name and continued to make dolls but they didn't sell as well.  In 1977, Tonka sold the Vogue rights to Lesney of England which made Sasson Ginny for the next three years.  In 1983 the rights were sold again to Meritus Corporation and then in 1986 the Vogue rights were sold to Dakin which is the current manufacturer of Ginny dolls.  The earlier vintage Ginny dolls are some of the most popular.  What set this doll apart from some others it that doll clothes for Ginny could be purchased separately.

Discontinued in 1969.
